Celeriac aka celery root is a type of celery, grown as a root vegetable for its large hypocotyl (swollen stem base). The hypocotyl is large and sweet and stores a lot of starch. Celeriac may be consumed raw or cooked.

Growing celeriac

1/ Celeriac has a long growing season.

2/ The soil should be moisture retaining soil and rich in organic matter.

3/ Sow the celeriac seeds in trays or modules during February.
