Celery is in the family of Apiaceae. Celery sprouts leaves and creamy-white flowers. Celery is known for its antitoxic properties. Celerey plants are raised from seed and sown in hot beds in the garden according to time of year.
There are a few varities of celery you can choose to grow. Some of the most popular celery seed varities include:
Celery Giant pascal seeds – a large celery full of flavour.
Celery Golden self-blanching seeds – can be used from as early as August.
Celery Lathom seeds – low maintenance, flavoursome celery.

Growing celery
1/ Choose a site with good sun and moisture retentive soil.
2/ Prepare soil in Spring and add a good manures.
3/ If you buy pre-grown celery plants then plant them 27cm’s apart from each other.
4/ Celery requires regular watering.
When planting celery always remember to refer to the instructions on the seed packets!
